Dear Diary,
I had a dream last night that really scared me. It seemed like the whole world was collapsing, but everything was turning into big pieces of floating ice, just like we were living in the North Pole. I only remember me and Linds in it, but I know there were more people. There was one building left standing that we could see and an enormous mountain was in the distance. It sent chills down my spine. I am pretty sure it was the end of the world.
My dad took us to Riverside today. It was just me, my brother John, my sister, Kelly, and my dad's over-opinionated girlfriend. I guess I had an alright time. A better time than I thought I was going to have, at least. I went on almost everything. My favorite was the Cyclone roller coaster. I got a little car sick on the way home, so we stopped at a Walgreens to get some medicine. While we were there, my dad bought me some Sun-In for my hair. It is supposed to give me some blond highlights. I hope it works!
My father takes us every Sunday now, to spend time with us. My parents got divorced when I was 7 or 8 and he pretty much disappeared. He ended up moving down to North Carolina for a while and when he came back into town a year later, he knocked on the door and I had no idea who he was. I feel kind of bad now that I think of it, but I pretty much blame him for his lack of being there. Now that he has found a new girlfriend, he sees us a lot more. His girlfriend, Eileen, makes him spend time with us. She is ok. A pain sometimes, but if it wasn't for her, my father wouldn't be in my life at all.
My mother has since found a new boyfriend named Carl. He has two children of his own. Carl actually just moved in with all of us. So that means there are 14 people living under one roof now. It should be interesting. I like the guy. He is very funny, but he can be a little overbearing at times. I am glad that my mother is happy, though.
Anyway, when we got home from Riverside, I asked Linds if Jake had come over today. She told me he hadn't. Later on, though, she took it back and admitted that he was over all day. I asked her why she had lied. She said that she didn't want me to be upset. I get where she is coming from but I wish she hadn't lied. I never know when she is kidding around when she says things. She does it all the time and it gets a little annoying.
Nothing else really went on tonight. It was pretty boring. I am going to make a wish, tonight, at 11:11pm for tomorrow to be a great day and to see Jake. Me and Linds always make a wish at 11:11. I guess we think it is lucky, or at least that is what we had heard. This time, I am also crossing my fingers. Double luck. I am going to need it!
Luv ya!

The Invisible Storm
Dear Diary,
So today completely sucked. Since we had that hurricane warning, me and Linds stayed inside and waited for the storm to attack. This did not happen. It rained a little and there was no wind. At all. Gotta love the Weather Man. We also didn't get to see Jake Larson or Kevin Leighton at all today. How depressing.
In the morning, me and Linds were hanging out in the living room, bored out of our minds, when we heard the front door open. We peaked over to see who it was and in came Jason Tork and Chris Walker. Without any bit of courtesy or acknowledgement of us, they strolled right on through, into the West Parlor. Me and Linds looked at each other, puzzled. A few moments later, they left the West Parlor and went into the kitchen, and then left the house. It was very random, and very strange. I wonder what they were doing?
What an uneventful day. Jack is sleeping over Amy's again tonight, so I suppose it will remain uneventful. Tomorrow, I have plans to go to Riverside Amusement Park with my dad, brother and sister. To be honest? I really don't want to go. Don't get me wrong—I love amusement parks, but just thinking about what I will be missing at home tomorrow depresses me. What if Jake comes over? I miss Jake. He barely comes over as it is anymore. It will probably be just my horrible luck that he does. If Jason Tork is over, though, I guess I will be glad to have missed him.
Why do I hate Jason Tork so much, you ask? Let me explain. I used to actually have a huge crush on him. In 7th grade, I went to my best friend (at the time) Emma's birthday party. It was my first ever boy/girl party and I was so excited. We played Truth or Dare, of course, and he was dared to kiss me. To think, this gorgeous guy that every girl in school was in love with, was kissing me! I nearly melted on the spot. Later on, he asked me to slow dance and he was singing all the words of the song to me. I was seriously in heaven. When he became friends with Jack, I was beside myself. He began to come over—and sleep over—every day. All the girls at school were jealous and even Lindsay developed a crush on him. Things began to change a bit after a while. Jason began to take his aggressions out on us. At first, me and Linds loved it. We thought it was Jason's way of paying attention to us. We were so happy about it that we would actually count the bruises we had. What on earth was wrong with us? Abuse is something to be happy about? Man, did we have issues.
To be honest, that isn't what made me hate him. Jason Tork can be the meanest person in the world sometimes. It has become a daily occurrence for him to put me down in some way—anyway--he can think of. He also is very conceited and brags about everything. He thinks he is better than us. He thinks he is better than everybody. I wish he didn't exist.
See ya tomorrow!
Love ya!

A Long Stroll Down Memory Lane
Dear Diary,
Hello. I just got my report card in the mail. Mr. Riccio gave me a C in Social Studies. A C! How frustrating.
So anyway, me and Linds decided to go for a walk today. On our way out, I heard someone yell "Hey Jason!" outside so we ran out to see who it was. It was Jake! He was riding his bike down the street. That was the only time I saw him all day.
We walked all the way to Paradise Green and then took a walk down Allyndale Drive, where my grandmother used to live. We stood in front of her old house and started to reminisce about the past. After that, we took a walk through Longbrook Park. It was really nice walking through the old neighborhood where I spent a lot of my childhood. I kind of miss it sometimes. After the walk down memory lane, we decided to head toward the library. On our way, we noticed two guys walking behind us. I had seen them earlier at Paradise Green. We got to the library, and it turned out to be closed. When we turned around to head back home, the two guys were right there in front of the library. I guess they had the same idea we had! Oh well.
When we turned onto our street, I had my fingers crossed that Jake and Kevin were there. We were just passing one of the neighbor's houses, Jack and another one of his friends, Chris Walker, came out of the backyard. They started chasing us down the street and then began walking in front of us. Next, Kevin Leighton came out and went after me and then turned to Linds and ran after her. We were all having fun until Jason Tork decided to grace us with his presence. I wasn't happy anymore. He was carrying this big long stick and chased me with it and ended up hitting me. I rolled my eyes and walked ahead as he went after Linds with it.
When we got home, dinner was ready. Jason stayed to eat while Kevin and Chris waited outside. After dinner, me and Linds took another walk to the end of the street and back. When we returned, we took a seat on the bench on the front porch. Kevin came out and sat with us. He had these little pointy things in his hand that had fallen from a tree. He asked what tree they had fallen from and went into the yard and began collecting more. I asked why he was collecting them and he said "Because they are cool!" He sat back down next to me and started throwing them at me. I said "What about Linds?" and so he threw one at her. Jason and Chris came out and started to walk down the street. Kevin yelled out to them "Wanna see something cool?" but they just ignored him and kept on walking. I felt kind of bad for him. He shrugged it off and his attention was back on me and Linds. He tried to poke me with one of the pointy things. I wouldn't let him because I thought it would hurt. Linds let him try it on her and she said it didn't hurt. I believed her and let him. Then Jack called him in. I was having fun with Kevin around and I bet Lindsay was having even more!
Later on, after everyone left, me and Linds were in her room. We decided to start writing a story. Her sister, Trish, came in and started yelling at Linds because she threw a piece of paper in her trash. God forbid. What a bitch. Seriously.
At about 9:00pm, I was lounging out on the recliner which was right in front of the bay window in the living room. All of the sudden, I heard a deep voice saying "Is Jack home?" I looked to see Kevin Leighton's face in the window. He scared the crap out of me but I was really very happy to see him. I don't like him like that or anything but I think he can be really cool sometimes.
You know what sucks? Jack is sleeping over this girl Amy's house tonight. We are having a hurricane tomorrow, they say, so he may night come home until late. It sucks because no Jack means no Jack's friends. We'll see what happens.
Until then,
Love ya!

I Love Jake Larson
Dear Diary,
Hey. So, I decided to start a diary. I would like to thank my best friend and cousin, Lindsay, for the inspiration. I guess I should introduce myself first. My name is Lucy and I am 14 years old. I live in an enormous house on the water in Connecticut with my entire family. That includes my mother, brother, sister, five of my first cousins, 2 aunts, and 2 uncles. That makes thirteen people living under one roof. It's a lot of people, sure, but there is never a dull moment, let me tell you!
Right now, I am so in love with my cousin Jack's friend, Jake Larson. Every time he comes over the house, he always flirts with me, I swear. Let's see, when I first fell for him, I was in the living room laying on the loveseat watching Karate Kid. Jake came in and I gave him the finger, trying to be funny. He smiled and leaned against the loveseat above my head and commented on the movie. I looked up at him and his face was right there looking down at me. We looked at each other straight in the eyes and the butterflies just started filling up my stomach. Now we have this cute thing with giving each other the finger every time he comes over. It sounds kind of stupid, but it is our little way of flirting.
The other day, Jake and Kevin and Rob Leighton (2 more of Jack's friends) came over with their bikes. Me and Linds were so happy. We went for our usual walks to the end of the street. When we turned around, they were heading our way. (This was about 9:30pm) Rob yelled “I'm blind! I can't see you!” and tried to run into Linds. Then Kevin tried to run her over. They were only playing, of course. Then Jake smiles at me and says “Say I won't”. It was a little inside joke that we had from a few days before. We both kind of laughed.
Now, Lindsay is in love with Kevin Leighton. She has been for 2 years now, only she never told me until recently. He used to be my cousin Jack's best friend and he would come over every single day. Now, Jack's best friend is this guy, Jason and now he comes over every day. Jason Tork. He is the most gorgeous guy on the face of the planet, but he is also the biggest asshole. I used to have a crush on him, and so did Linds, which I will explain another time.
Today, Linds woke me up. I had slept late. Jason was over and now I completely hate his guts. We were watching this movie Clueless and this song came on about being a supermodel. I was singing along and he looks at me and told me how ugly I am and that I need to lose weight and get a nose job and a face lift. As if I needed to hear that. I want him to leave so bad. Right now, I am sitting in my room until that happens.
For now,
Luv ya!
~Lucy~
